Title 7 Criminal Procedure

Write the words of this act the way you think they should read. Solon shows your change as a redline against the published text and pins it to that exact text, so it can never be applied to wording you did not see.

Your change, as a redline

7-11-205. Discharge of jury before verdict without prejudice.

(a) If a jury is discharged for any of the following reasons before reaching a verdict, the discharge shall be without prejudice to the prosecution: (i) Sickness of a juror or other accident or calamity requiring discharge of the jury; (ii) Failure of the jury to return a verdict; or (iii) Dismissal of the proceeding due to a failure of the complaint, information or indictment to properly charge the offense.

One line that says what changes, such as "Halve the dog tax".

Who it helps, what it costs, what it fixes. It is what persuades people to support it.

A proposal here is not law. Support on Solon is evidence that people want the change; the official route says what it takes to make it law.
