Title 7 Criminal Procedure

Write the words of this act the way you think they should read. Solon shows your change as a redline against the published text and pins it to that exact text, so it can never be applied to wording you did not see.

What to do with it
As published

7-3-503. Compliance with recognizance order; failure to give recognizance.

(a) If a person ordered to give recognizance complies with the order he shall be discharged and the recognizance returned to him. (b) If a person ordered to give recognizance and surety refuses or neglects to do so, the judge may order the person to show cause why he should not be committed to jail. If the judge finds that the person's default is willful or is due to his failure to make a good faith effort to obtain the surety required, the judge may order him committed to jail until the surety, or a specified part thereof is given, provided that such commitment shall not exceed six (6) months.

One line that says what changes, such as "Halve the dog tax".

Who it helps, what it costs, what it fixes. It is what persuades people to support it.

A proposal here is not law. Support on Solon is evidence that people want the change; the official route says what it takes to make it law.
