Corporation Tax Act 2009

Write the words of this act the way you think they should read. Solon shows your change as a redline against the published text and pins it to that exact text, so it can never be applied to wording you did not see.

369 Carry forward of claims where there are no net consortium debits

(1) This section applies if for any group accounting period there is— (a) a claim by the member company or a group member for group relief in respect of an amount which may be surrendered as group relief by debtor consortium companies (as reduced under section 368, if it applies), and (b) no net consortium debit in respect of the relevant consortium creditor relationships. (2) The claim (as so reduced) is carried forward and treated for the purposes of section 365— (a) as increasing any such claim for group relief made by the claimant company for its next accounting period, or (b) if apart from this subsection there would be no such claim, as being such a claim.

One line that says what changes, such as "Halve the dog tax".

Who it helps, what it costs, what it fixes. It is what persuades people to support it.

A proposal here is not law. Support on Solon is evidence that people want the change; the official route says what it takes to make it law.

Ask what your change would do, who would gain and who would bear a cost, and where something like it is already law. The assistant reads your draft as it stands, cites the law and the studies it finds, and takes no side. What you file stays yours.
