Government of Wales Act 2006

Write the words of this act the way you think they should read. Solon shows your change as a redline against the published text and pins it to that exact text, so it can never be applied to wording you did not see.

(3) A determination under subsection (1) may make different provision for different political groups. (4) . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . (5) The standing orders must include provision for determining for the purposes of this Act whether any Member of the Senedd belongs to a political group and, if so, to which; and (in particular)— (a) may include provision for treating a Member of the Senedd as not belonging to a political group unless a specified number of Members of the Senedd belong to it, and (b) must include provision requiring the Presiding Officer to decide any questions arising under the provision included by virtue of this subsection. (6) The Senedd Commission must lay before the Senedd every determination made by the Board under section 24(1) as soon as is reasonably practicable after it is made. One line that says what changes, such as "Halve the dog tax".

Who it helps, what it costs, what it fixes. It is what persuades people to support it.

A proposal here is not law. Support on Solon is evidence that people want the change; the official route says what it takes to make it law.

Ask what your change would do, who would gain and who would bear a cost, and where something like it is already law. The assistant reads your draft as it stands, cites the law and the studies it finds, and takes no side. What you file stays yours.
