140 Profits adjusted to be profits before certain purchase accounting adjustments

(1) The underlying profits of a member of a multinational group for an accounting period are to be adjusted so that they do not reflect relevant share acquisition adjustments. (2) “Relevant share acquisition adjustment” means a purchase accounting adjustment to the consolidated financial statements of an ultimate parent of a multinational group arising as a result of an entity becoming a member of the group as a result of the acquisition of ownership interests in the entity by an existing member of the group. (3) This section does not apply to a relevant share acquisition adjustment resulting from an acquisition of ownership interests before 1 December 2021 if the members of the group do not have sufficient records to identify the adjustment made with reasonable accuracy.

One line that says what changes, such as "Halve the dog tax".

Who it helps, what it costs, what it fixes. It is what persuades people to support it.

A proposal here is not law. Support on Solon is evidence that people want the change; the official route says what it takes to make it law.

Ask what your change would do, who would gain and who would bear a cost, and where something like it is already law. The assistant reads your draft as it stands, cites the law and the studies it finds, and takes no side. What you file stays yours.
