Finance (No. 2) Act 2023

Write the words of this act the way you think they should read. Solon shows your change as a redline against the published text and pins it to that exact text, so it can never be applied to wording you did not see.

Your change, as a redline

224 Additional top-up amounts of investment entities

(1) Sections 202 to 207 apply in respect of a member of a multinational group that is an investment entity such that the member may have additional top-up amounts. (2) For that purpose— (a) references in those sections to the standard members of a multinational group in a territory apply as if they were references to the investment entities of the group in the territory; (b) the reference in section 202(3) to Step 2 in section 132(1) applies as if it were a reference to Step 2 in section 222; (c) sections 204(4) and 207(2) do not apply.

One line that says what changes, such as "Halve the dog tax".

Who it helps, what it costs, what it fixes. It is what persuades people to support it.

A proposal here is not law. Support on Solon is evidence that people want the change; the official route says what it takes to make it law.

Ask what your change would do, who would gain and who would bear a cost, and where something like it is already law. The assistant reads your draft as it stands, cites the law and the studies it finds, and takes no side. What you file stays yours.
