Modern Slavery Act 2015
Write the words of this act the way you think they should read. Solon shows your change as a redline against the published text and pins it to that exact text, so it can never be applied to wording you did not see.
Change 1
49 Guidance about identifying and supporting victims
(1) The Secretary of State must issue guidance to such public authorities and other persons as the Secretary of State considers appropriate about— (a) the sorts of things which indicate that a person may be a victim of slavery or human trafficking; (b) arrangements for providing assistance and support to persons who there are reasonable grounds to believe are victims of slavery or human trafficking or who are such victims; (c) arrangements for determining whether there are reasonable grounds to believe that a person is a victim of slavery or human trafficking. (d) arrangements for determining whether a person is a victim of slavery or human trafficking. (1A) Guidance issued under subsection (1) must, in particular, provide that the determination mentioned in paragraph (d) is to be made on the balance of probabilities. (2) The Secretary of State may, from time to time, revise the guidance issued under subsection (1). (3) The Secretary of State must arrange for any guidance issued or revised under this section to be published in a way the Secretary of State considers appropriate. (4) If the Secretary of State makes regulations under section 50, the references in subsection (1) to “arrangements” include arrangements under the regulations.

One line that says what changes, such as "Halve the dog tax".
Who it helps, what it costs, what it fixes. It is what persuades people to support it.
A proposal here is not law. Support on Solon is evidence that people want the change; the official route says what it takes to make it law.

Ask what your change would do, who would gain and who would bear a cost, and where something like it is already law. The assistant reads your draft as it stands, cites the law and the studies it finds, and takes no side. What you file stays yours.
