Northern Ireland Troubles (Legacy and Reconciliation) Act 2023
Write the words of this act the way you think they should read. Solon shows your change as a redline against the published text and pins it to that exact text, so it can never be applied to wording you did not see.
Change 1
55 The advisory forum
(1) The designated persons must use their best endeavours to establish an advisory forum consisting of other persons. (2) In establishing an advisory forum, the designated persons must have regard to— (a) the need to ensure that the membership of the advisory forum includes persons who represent the views of victims and survivors of events and conduct forming part of the Troubles (whether or not they also represent the views of other persons); (b) the need to ensure that the membership of the advisory forum is balanced as respects those members who are associated with the different communities in Northern Ireland. (3) The duties imposed on the designated persons by subsections (1) and (2) do not apply if— (a) those persons have taken the actions required by those duties before the specified day, and (b) an advisory forum established by those persons in compliance with those duties is in existence immediately before the specified day. (4) The designated persons must publish any current arrangements under which any advisory forum is established (including publishing the membership of the forum) as soon as practicable after the arrangements are made or amended (or after the specified day, in the case of any arrangements made before that day and not already published).

One line that says what changes, such as "Halve the dog tax".
Who it helps, what it costs, what it fixes. It is what persuades people to support it.
A proposal here is not law. Support on Solon is evidence that people want the change; the official route says what it takes to make it law.

Ask what your change would do, who would gain and who would bear a cost, and where something like it is already law. The assistant reads your draft as it stands, cites the law and the studies it finds, and takes no side. What you file stays yours.
