Local Audit and Accountability Act 2014

Write the words of this act the way you think they should read. Solon shows your change as a redline against the published text and pins it to that exact text, so it can never be applied to wording you did not see.

30 Unlawful expenditure or activity of health service bodies

(1) A local auditor of the accounts of a health service body must take the steps set out in subsection (2) if the auditor believes that the body or an officer of the body— (a) is about to make, or has made, a decision which involves or would involve the body incurring unlawful expenditure, or (b) is about to take or has begun to take a course of action which, if followed to its conclusion, would be unlawful and likely to cause a loss or deficiency. (2) The local auditor must, as soon as reasonably practicable— (a) refer the matter to the Secretary of State, and (b) notify NHS England of the matter.

One line that says what changes, such as "Halve the dog tax".

Who it helps, what it costs, what it fixes. It is what persuades people to support it.

A proposal here is not law. Support on Solon is evidence that people want the change; the official route says what it takes to make it law.

Ask what your change would do, who would gain and who would bear a cost, and where something like it is already law. The assistant reads your draft as it stands, cites the law and the studies it finds, and takes no side. What you file stays yours.
