Public Service Pensions Act 2013

Write the words of this act the way you think they should read. Solon shows your change as a redline against the published text and pins it to that exact text, so it can never be applied to wording you did not see.

What to do with it

21 Consultation

(1) Before making scheme regulations the responsible authority must consult such persons (or representatives of such persons) as appear to the authority likely to be affected by them. (2) The responsible authority must publish a statement indicating the persons that the authority would normally expect to consult under subsection (1) (and keep the statement up-to-date). (3) Subsection (1) may be satisfied by consultation before, as well as by consultation after, the coming into force of this section. (4) Subsection (1) may, in relation to provision contained in scheme regulations— (a) under any provision contained in Part 1 of PSPJOA 2022, or (b) under section 3(2)(c) of this Act (consequential etc provision in relation to Part 1 of PSPJOA 2022), be satisfied by consultation before, as well as after, the coming into force of the provision mentioned in paragraph (a) or (b). (5) Subsection (1) may be satisfied, in relation to provision contained in scheme regulations— (a) made under any provision of Chapter 1 of Part 1 of the Pension Schemes Act 2026, or (b) made under section 3(2)(d) above, by consultation carried out before, as well as after, the coming into force of the provision mentioned in paragraph (a) or of section 7(2)(b) of the Pension Schemes Act 2026 (as the case may be).

One line that says what changes, such as "Halve the dog tax".

Who it helps, what it costs, what it fixes. It is what persuades people to support it.

A proposal here is not law. Support on Solon is evidence that people want the change; the official route says what it takes to make it law.

Ask what your change would do, who would gain and who would bear a cost, and where something like it is already law. The assistant reads your draft as it stands, cites the law and the studies it finds, and takes no side. What you file stays yours.
