Energy Act 2023

Write the words of this act the way you think they should read. Solon shows your change as a redline against the published text and pins it to that exact text, so it can never be applied to wording you did not see.

131 Designation

(1) The Secretary of State may by notice given to a person designate the person in relation to a hydrogen pipeline project. (2) The Secretary of State may designate a person in relation to a hydrogen pipeline project only if the Secretary of State is of the opinion— (a) that it is likely to be appropriate for conditions described in section 137(1)(a) and (b) to be included in any gas transporter licence held by the person for the purposes of the project (whether or not the person already holds such a licence), and (b) that the project is likely to result in value for money. (3) A person may be designated only with the person’s consent. (4) A designation may not relate to more than one hydrogen pipeline project (but a person who is designated in relation to one project may be designated separately in relation to another).

One line that says what changes, such as "Halve the dog tax".

Who it helps, what it costs, what it fixes. It is what persuades people to support it.

A proposal here is not law. Support on Solon is evidence that people want the change; the official route says what it takes to make it law.

Ask what your change would do, who would gain and who would bear a cost, and where something like it is already law. The assistant reads your draft as it stands, cites the law and the studies it finds, and takes no side. What you file stays yours.
