Energy Act 2023
Write the words of this act the way you think they should read. Solon shows your change as a redline against the published text and pins it to that exact text, so it can never be applied to wording you did not see.
Change 1
188 Selection on a non-competitive basis
(1) The Secretary of State may by regulations make provision about the selection by the GEMA, otherwise than on a competitive basis, of the person who is to be the code manager in relation to a designated document. (2) Regulations under this section may make provision by reference to a determination by the GEMA or to the opinion of the GEMA as to any matter. (3) Regulations under this section must make provision so as to ensure that a person (“P”) may not be selected to be the code manager in relation to a designated document unless the GEMA is satisfied that P would not, if selected, have a financial or other interest likely to prejudice the discharge by P of the functions of code manager. (4) The provision that may be made by virtue of subsection (1) includes provision for the selection by the GEMA of a person (other than an individual) formed by the GEMA.

One line that says what changes, such as "Halve the dog tax".
Who it helps, what it costs, what it fixes. It is what persuades people to support it.
A proposal here is not law. Support on Solon is evidence that people want the change; the official route says what it takes to make it law.

Ask what your change would do, who would gain and who would bear a cost, and where something like it is already law. The assistant reads your draft as it stands, cites the law and the studies it finds, and takes no side. What you file stays yours.
