Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024

Write the words of this act the way you think they should read. Solon shows your change as a redline against the published text and pins it to that exact text, so it can never be applied to wording you did not see.

105 Extensions: supplementary

(1) A period may be extended under both section 104(1) and (3). (2) No more than one extension is possible under section 104(1). (3) Where a relevant investigation period or a final offer period is extended or further extended under section 104(1) or (3), the period as extended or, as the case may be, further extended is, subject to subsection (4), to be calculated by taking the period being extended and adding to it the period of the extension (whether or not those periods overlap in time). (4) Where— (a) a relevant investigation period or a final offer period is further extended under section 104(3), and (b) the further extension overlaps with a previous extension under section 104(3), the period of overlap is to be disregarded in calculating the period of the further extension.

One line that says what changes, such as "Halve the dog tax".

Who it helps, what it costs, what it fixes. It is what persuades people to support it.

A proposal here is not law. Support on Solon is evidence that people want the change; the official route says what it takes to make it law.

Ask what your change would do, who would gain and who would bear a cost, and where something like it is already law. The assistant reads your draft as it stands, cites the law and the studies it finds, and takes no side. What you file stays yours.
