Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024
Write the words of this act the way you think they should read. Solon shows your change as a redline against the published text and pins it to that exact text, so it can never be applied to wording you did not see.
Change 1
171 Notification requirements: proceedings
(1) This section applies where a local weights and measures authority in England and Wales intends to start proceedings for an offence under an enactment listed in Part 1 of Schedule 15. (2) Before starting the proceedings the authority— (a) must by notice inform the CMA of its intention to do so, and (b) may only start the proceedings on or after the relevant day. (3) The “relevant day” is— (a) the day on which the CMA notifies the authority that the CMA has received the authority’s notice given under subsection (2)(a), or (b) if sooner, the day beginning 14 days after the day on which that notice was given. (4) Where the authority starts the proceedings, the authority must by notice inform the CMA of outcome of the proceedings. (5) A failure of an authority to comply with a requirement under this section does not invalidate any proceedings started by the authority.

One line that says what changes, such as "Halve the dog tax".
Who it helps, what it costs, what it fixes. It is what persuades people to support it.
A proposal here is not law. Support on Solon is evidence that people want the change; the official route says what it takes to make it law.

Ask what your change would do, who would gain and who would bear a cost, and where something like it is already law. The assistant reads your draft as it stands, cites the law and the studies it finds, and takes no side. What you file stays yours.
