Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024
Write the words of this act the way you think they should read. Solon shows your change as a redline against the published text and pins it to that exact text, so it can never be applied to wording you did not see.
Change 1
283 Other defined terms
(1) In this Chapter, references to a trader operating a consumer savings scheme are references to a trader entering into a consumer savings scheme contract. (2) For the purposes of section 282(1)(a)(ii), it is sufficient for a trader to hold the consumer’s payments in some way other than crediting those payments to a specific account for that consumer and references in this Chapter to a “consumer’s account” are to be construed accordingly. (3) In this Chapter, “protected payments” are payments, made by a consumer under a consumer savings scheme contract, in respect of which funds in the consumer’s account have not been redeemed. (4) Subject to subsection (5), in this Chapter, funds are treated as redeemed when the trader provides the consumer with goods, services or digital content in accordance with the terms of the consumer savings scheme contract. (5) Where a trader provides a consumer with vouchers or credit-tokens which may be redeemed only in respect of goods, services or digital content provided by that trader, funds are treated as redeemed for the purposes of this Chapter only when those vouchers or credit-tokens are redeemed.

One line that says what changes, such as "Halve the dog tax".
Who it helps, what it costs, what it fixes. It is what persuades people to support it.
A proposal here is not law. Support on Solon is evidence that people want the change; the official route says what it takes to make it law.

Ask what your change would do, who would gain and who would bear a cost, and where something like it is already law. The assistant reads your draft as it stands, cites the law and the studies it finds, and takes no side. What you file stays yours.
