Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024

Write the words of this act the way you think they should read. Solon shows your change as a redline against the published text and pins it to that exact text, so it can never be applied to wording you did not see.

72 Power to interview

(1) If the CMA considers that an individual (“X”) has information relevant to a digital markets investigation, the CMA may give a notice to X requiring X to answer questions with respect to any matter relevant to that digital markets investigation— (a) at a place or in a manner (which may be remote) specified in the notice, and (b) either at a time specified in the notice or on receipt of the notice. (4) The CMA must comply with the requirement under subsection (3)— (a) at the time the notice is given to X, or (b) where that is not practicable, as soon as reasonably practicable after the notice is given to X. (5) The CMA, or any person nominated by it, may take evidence in answer to questions under subsection (1) on oath, and for that purpose may administer oaths. (6) The powers conferred by this section are not exercisable in relation to an individual outside the United Kingdom.

One line that says what changes, such as "Halve the dog tax".

Who it helps, what it costs, what it fixes. It is what persuades people to support it.

A proposal here is not law. Support on Solon is evidence that people want the change; the official route says what it takes to make it law.

Ask what your change would do, who would gain and who would bear a cost, and where something like it is already law. The assistant reads your draft as it stands, cites the law and the studies it finds, and takes no side. What you file stays yours.
