Children and Families Act 2014

Write the words of this act the way you think they should read. Solon shows your change as a redline against the published text and pins it to that exact text, so it can never be applied to wording you did not see.

134 Review of sections 131 to 133

(1) The Secretary of State must from time to time— (a) carry out a review of sections 131 to 133, (b) set out the conclusions of the review in a report, and (c) publish the report. (2) The report must in particular— (a) set out the objectives intended to be achieved by the amendments of the Employment Rights Act 1996 made by sections 131 to 133, (b) assess the extent to which those objectives are achieved, and (c) assess whether those objectives remain appropriate and, if so, the extent to which they could be achieved in a way that imposes less regulation. (3) The first report to be published under this section must be published before the end of the period of seven years beginning with the day on which sections 131 to 133 come into force. (4) Reports under this section are afterwards to be published at intervals not exceeding seven years.

One line that says what changes, such as "Halve the dog tax".

Who it helps, what it costs, what it fixes. It is what persuades people to support it.

A proposal here is not law. Support on Solon is evidence that people want the change; the official route says what it takes to make it law.

Ask what your change would do, who would gain and who would bear a cost, and where something like it is already law. The assistant reads your draft as it stands, cites the law and the studies it finds, and takes no side. What you file stays yours.
