Investigatory Powers Act 2016
Write the words of this act the way you think they should read. Solon shows your change as a redline against the published text and pins it to that exact text, so it can never be applied to wording you did not see.
Change 1
192 Safeguards relating to disclosure of material overseas
(1) The Secretary of State must ensure, in relation to every bulk equipment interference warrant, that arrangements are in force for securing that— (a) any material obtained under the warrant is handed over to overseas authorities only if the requirements of subsection (2) are met, and (b) copies of any such material are given to overseas authorities only if those requirements are met. (2) The requirements of this subsection are met in the case of a warrant if it appears to the Secretary of State that requirements corresponding to the requirements of section 191(2) and (5) and section 193 will apply, to such extent (if any) as the Secretary of State considers appropriate, in relation to any of the material which is handed over, or any copy of which is given, to the authorities in question. (3) In this section— “copy” has the same meaning as in section 191; “overseas authorities” means authorities of a country or territory outside the United Kingdom.

One line that says what changes, such as "Halve the dog tax".
Who it helps, what it costs, what it fixes. It is what persuades people to support it.
A proposal here is not law. Support on Solon is evidence that people want the change; the official route says what it takes to make it law.

Ask what your change would do, who would gain and who would bear a cost, and where something like it is already law. The assistant reads your draft as it stands, cites the law and the studies it finds, and takes no side. What you file stays yours.
