Small Business, Enterprise and Employment Act 2015

Write the words of this act the way you think they should read. Solon shows your change as a redline against the published text and pins it to that exact text, so it can never be applied to wording you did not see.

46 Review of Pubs Code

(1) The Secretary of State must review the operation of the Pubs Code for each review period. (2) The first review period is the period beginning on the date on which the Pubs Code comes into force and ending 2 years after the following 31 March. (3) Subsequent review periods are each successive period of 3 years after the first review period. (4) As soon as practicable after a review period, the Secretary of State must— (a) publish a report of the findings of the review for that period, and (b) lay a copy of the report before Parliament. (5) In particular, the report must set out— (a) the extent to which, in the Secretary of State's opinion, the Pubs Code is consistent with the principles set out in section 42(3), and (b) any revisions of the Pubs Code which, in the Secretary of State's opinion, would enable the Pubs Code to reflect more fully those principles.

One line that says what changes, such as "Halve the dog tax".

Who it helps, what it costs, what it fixes. It is what persuades people to support it.

A proposal here is not law. Support on Solon is evidence that people want the change; the official route says what it takes to make it law.

Ask what your change would do, who would gain and who would bear a cost, and where something like it is already law. The assistant reads your draft as it stands, cites the law and the studies it finds, and takes no side. What you file stays yours.
