Propose a change

Small Business, Enterprise and Employment Act 2015

Write the words of this act the way you think they should read. Solon shows your change as a redline against the published text and pins it to that exact text, so it can never be applied to wording you did not see.

54 Investigation reports

(1) Following an investigation, the Adjudicator must— (a) publish a report on the outcome of the investigation, and (b) consider whether to use any of the enforcement powers mentioned in section 55. (2) An investigation report must, in particular, specify— (a) any findings that the Adjudicator has made, (b) any action that the Adjudicator has taken or proposes to take, and (c) the reasons for the findings and any action taken or proposed. (3) An investigation report need not identify the pub-owning business concerned. (4) If a pub-owning business is identified in a report, the business must have been given a reasonable opportunity to comment on a draft of the report before publication.

One line that says what changes, such as "Halve the dog tax".

Who it helps, what it costs, what it fixes. It is what persuades people to support it.

A proposal here is not law. Support on Solon is evidence that people want the change; the official route says what it takes to make it law.

Ask what your change would do, who would gain and who would bear a cost, and where something like it is already law. The assistant reads your draft as it stands, cites the law and the studies it finds, and takes no side. What you file stays yours.
