Parliamentary Costs Act 2006
Write the words of this act the way you think they should read. Solon shows your change as a redline against the published text and pins it to that exact text, so it can never be applied to wording you did not see.

3 Application for assessment
(1) Either of the following may apply for an assessment of costs relating to proceedings of Parliament on a private Bill— (a) a representative (or a successor of his) to whom payment of the costs is overdue, (b) a party who has been charged with, but who objects to, the costs. (2) Subsection (1) does not apply unless the representative (or a partner or successor of his) has signed a bill of the costs and— (a) delivered it to the party, or (b) sent it by post to, or left it for him at, his workplace, home or last known home address. (3) The application must be made— (a) where the proceedings took place in only one House, to the taxing officer of that House; (b) where they took place in both Houses, to either taxing officer. (4) The application must be accompanied by a true copy of the bill of costs. (5) If, pending an assessment of costs on an application under this section, proceedings are brought to recover the costs, those proceedings are stayed until the costs have been certified under section 8.

One line that says what changes, such as "Halve the dog tax".
Who it helps, what it costs, what it fixes. It is what persuades people to support it.
A proposal here is not law. Support on Solon is evidence that people want the change; the official route says what it takes to make it law.

Ask what your change would do, who would gain and who would bear a cost, and where something like it is already law. The assistant reads your draft as it stands, cites the law and the studies it finds, and takes no side. What you file stays yours.
