Steel Industry (Nationalisation) Act 2026
Write the words of this act the way you think they should read. Solon shows your change as a redline against the published text and pins it to that exact text, so it can never be applied to wording you did not see.

53 Independent valuation of compensation
(1) Compensation scheme regulations must provide for any valuation for the purposes of the regulations to be carried out by a person appointed in accordance with the regulations. (2) A person appointed by virtue of subsection (1) is referred to in this Part as an “independent valuer”. (3) Compensation scheme regulations must provide for an independent valuer to be appointed by a person designated by the Secretary of State for the purposes of this subsection (the “appointing person”). (4) Compensation scheme regulations may either— (a) require the Secretary of State to make arrangements to identify a number of possible independent valuers, one of whom is to be selected by the appointing person, or (b) require the appointing person to make arrangements to select an independent valuer, having regard to any criteria specified in the regulations. (5) An independent valuer may be removed only— (a) on the grounds of incapacity or serious misconduct, and (b) by a person designated by the Secretary of State for the purposes of this subsection. (6) Compensation scheme regulations must include provision for resignation and replacement of an independent valuer (and subsections (3) and (4) apply to replacement as to the first appointment).

One line that says what changes, such as "Halve the dog tax".
Who it helps, what it costs, what it fixes. It is what persuades people to support it.
A proposal here is not law. Support on Solon is evidence that people want the change; the official route says what it takes to make it law.

Ask what your change would do, who would gain and who would bear a cost, and where something like it is already law. The assistant reads your draft as it stands, cites the law and the studies it finds, and takes no side. What you file stays yours.
