Finance Act 2013
Write the words of this act the way you think they should read. Solon shows your change as a redline against the published text and pins it to that exact text, so it can never be applied to wording you did not see.
Change 1
95 Entitlement to interests
(1) In this Part “entitled” means beneficially entitled— (a) whether solely or jointly with another person, and (b) whether as a member of a partnership or otherwise. This is subject to subsection (2). (2) References in this Part to entitlement to a single-dwelling interest (or any other chargeable interest) do not include— (a) entitlement in the capacity of a trustee or personal representative, or (b) entitlement as a beneficiary under a settlement. (3) Subsection (1)(b) does not apply where the contrary is specified. (4) In this section “settlement” has the same meaning as in Part 4 of FA 2003 (see paragraph 1 of Schedule 16 to that Act).

One line that says what changes, such as "Halve the dog tax".
Who it helps, what it costs, what it fixes. It is what persuades people to support it.
A proposal here is not law. Support on Solon is evidence that people want the change; the official route says what it takes to make it law.

Ask what your change would do, who would gain and who would bear a cost, and where something like it is already law. The assistant reads your draft as it stands, cites the law and the studies it finds, and takes no side. What you file stays yours.
