Groceries Code Adjudicator Act 2013

Write the words of this act the way you think they should read. Solon shows your change as a redline against the published text and pins it to that exact text, so it can never be applied to wording you did not see.

8 Investigations: enforcement using requirements to publish information

(1) If the Adjudicator chooses to enforce through requiring information to be published, that means requiring the large retailer to publish information relating to the investigation. (2) The publication requirement is imposed by giving written notice to the large retailer specifying— (a) what information is to be published; (b) how it must be published; and (c) the time by which it must be published. (3) The Adjudicator may enforce the requirement to publish information by bringing civil proceedings to obtain— (a) in England and Wales or Northern Ireland, an injunction or any other appropriate remedy or relief; or (b) in Scotland, an order for specific performance under section 45 of the Court of Session Act 1988 or any other appropriate remedy or relief.

One line that says what changes, such as "Halve the dog tax".

Who it helps, what it costs, what it fixes. It is what persuades people to support it.

A proposal here is not law. Support on Solon is evidence that people want the change; the official route says what it takes to make it law.

Think it through

Ask what your change would do, who would gain and who would bear a cost, and where something like it is already law. The assistant reads your draft as it stands, cites the law and the studies it finds, and takes no side. What you file stays yours.
