Title 9 Administration of the Government

Write the words of this act the way you think they should read. Solon shows your change as a redline against the published text and pins it to that exact text, so it can never be applied to wording you did not see.

Your change, as a redline

9-1-405. Setoffs in suits by state.

(a) In all suits brought in behalf of the state no debt or claim shall be allowed against the state as a setoff unless: (i) The debts or claims were exhibited to the auditor and by him allowed or disallowed; or (ii) It is proved to the court that the defendant at the time of trial possesses vouchers which he could not produce to the auditor or that he was prevented from exhibiting the claim to the auditor by absence from the state, sickness or accidents.

One line that says what changes, such as "Halve the dog tax".

Who it helps, what it costs, what it fixes. It is what persuades people to support it.

A proposal here is not law. Support on Solon is evidence that people want the change; the official route says what it takes to make it law.
