Football Governance Act 2025

Write the words of this act the way you think they should read. Solon shows your change as a redline against the published text and pins it to that exact text, so it can never be applied to wording you did not see.

(1) The IFR may give a person a notice (an “information notice”) requiring the person to give specified information to the IFR where the IFR considers that the information is necessary for the purpose of exercising the IFR’s functions under this Act. (2) An information notice must— (a) explain why the IFR requires the information; (b) state the time by which, or the frequency with which, the information must be given to the IFR; (c) state the place at which, or the manner (which may be remote) in which, the information must be given to the IFR; (d) state the form in which the information must be given to the IFR; (e) include information about the possible consequences under Part 8 of not complying with the notice. (3) The power under this section to require a person to give information to the IFR includes the power to— (a) take copies of or extracts from the information given to the IFR; (b) require the person to obtain or generate information for the purpose of giving that information to the IFR; (c) require the person to collect or retain information that they would not otherwise collect or retain for the purpose of giving that information to the IFR; (d) if any specified information is not given to the IFR, require the person to state, to the best of their knowledge and belief, both where that information is and why it has not been given to the IFR. (4) In this section, “specified” means— (a) specified, or described, in the information notice, or (b) falling within a category which is specified, or described, in the information notice.

One line that says what changes, such as "Halve the dog tax".

Who it helps, what it costs, what it fixes. It is what persuades people to support it.

A proposal here is not law. Support on Solon is evidence that people want the change; the official route says what it takes to make it law.

Ask what your change would do, who would gain and who would bear a cost, and where something like it is already law. The assistant reads your draft as it stands, cites the law and the studies it finds, and takes no side. What you file stays yours.
