Product Security and Telecommunications Infrastructure Act 2022

Write the words of this act the way you think they should read. Solon shows your change as a redline against the published text and pins it to that exact text, so it can never be applied to wording you did not see.

26 Enforcement of Part 1

(1) The person responsible for enforcing the provisions of this Part, and of regulations made under it, is the Secretary of State (but see also section 27). (2) For the investigatory powers available to the Secretary of State, see Schedule 5 to the Consumer Rights Act 2015. (3) In paragraph 10 of Schedule 5 to that Act (duties and powers to which Schedule 5 applies), insert at the appropriate place— section 26(1) of the Product Security and Telecommunications Infrastructure Act 2022; . (4) Despite paragraph 13(4) of Schedule 5 to that Act, the Secretary of State may exercise the powers in Part 3 of that Schedule (powers in relation to the production of information) for any purpose relating to the enforcement of this Part (and in such a case the restriction imposed by paragraph 13(5) of that Schedule does not apply). (5) Nothing in this section authorises the Secretary of State to bring proceedings in Scotland for an offence under this Part.

One line that says what changes, such as "Halve the dog tax".

Who it helps, what it costs, what it fixes. It is what persuades people to support it.

A proposal here is not law. Support on Solon is evidence that people want the change; the official route says what it takes to make it law.

Ask what your change would do, who would gain and who would bear a cost, and where something like it is already law. The assistant reads your draft as it stands, cites the law and the studies it finds, and takes no side. What you file stays yours.
