Police Reform and Social Responsibility Act 2011
Write the words of this act the way you think they should read. Solon shows your change as a redline against the published text and pins it to that exact text, so it can never be applied to wording you did not see.
Change 1

(1) A police and crime panel may suspend the relevant police and crime commissioner if it appears to the panel that— (a) the commissioner has been charged in the United Kingdom, the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man with an offence, and (b) the offence is one which carries a maximum term of imprisonment exceeding two years. (3) For the purposes of salary, pensions and allowances in respect of times during a period of suspension, the police and crime commissioner is to be treated as not holding that office during that suspension. (4) In this section references to an offence which carries a maximum term of imprisonment exceeding two years are references— (a) to an offence which carries such a maximum term in the case of a person who has attained the age of 18 years, or (b) to an offence for which, in the case of such a person, the sentence is fixed by law as life imprisonment.

One line that says what changes, such as "Halve the dog tax".
Who it helps, what it costs, what it fixes. It is what persuades people to support it.
A proposal here is not law. Support on Solon is evidence that people want the change; the official route says what it takes to make it law.

Ask what your change would do, who would gain and who would bear a cost, and where something like it is already law. The assistant reads your draft as it stands, cites the law and the studies it finds, and takes no side. What you file stays yours.
