Justice and Security (Northern Ireland) Act 2007
Write the words of this act the way you think they should read. Solon shows your change as a redline against the published text and pins it to that exact text, so it can never be applied to wording you did not see.
Change 1
43 Accredited community-based restorative justice schemes
(1) The Secretary of State shall maintain a register of schemes that appear to him— (a) to be community-based restorative justice schemes, and (b) to meet requirements determined and published by him. (3) The Secretary of State shall add a scheme to the register if— (a) a person applies for the scheme to be added, and (b) the Secretary of State thinks that the scheme is a community-based restorative justice scheme which meets the requirements. (4) The Secretary of State may remove a scheme from the register if, having considered any report about the scheme made by the Chief Inspector, he thinks that— (a) it is not a community-based restorative justice scheme, or (b) it does not meet the requirements. (5) The Chief Inspector may inspect a scheme which is registered or which is the subject of an application for registration; and— (a) he shall from time to time make a report to the Secretary of State on inspections carried out by him by virtue of this section, and (b) section 49(2) to (4) of the Justice (Northern Ireland) Act 2002 (c. 26) (laying of Chief Inspector's reports before Parliament etc) shall apply in relation to the report. One line that says what changes, such as "Halve the dog tax".
Who it helps, what it costs, what it fixes. It is what persuades people to support it.
A proposal here is not law. Support on Solon is evidence that people want the change; the official route says what it takes to make it law.

Ask what your change would do, who would gain and who would bear a cost, and where something like it is already law. The assistant reads your draft as it stands, cites the law and the studies it finds, and takes no side. What you file stays yours.
