Sovereign Grant Act 2011
Write the words of this act the way you think they should read. Solon shows your change as a redline against the published text and pins it to that exact text, so it can never be applied to wording you did not see.
Change 1
16 Duration of Sovereign Grant provisions etc
(1) The Sovereign Grant provisions cease to have effect 6 months after the end of the present reign unless continued under subsection (3). (2) “The Sovereign Grant provisions” are sections 1 to 9, 11 and 12. (3) An Order in Council may provide that, instead of expiring when they would otherwise expire (by virtue of subsection (1) or a previous Order under this subsection), the Sovereign Grant provisions expire 6 months after the end of the reign in which the Order is made. (4) In section 1(1) of the Civil List Act 1952 (payment of hereditary revenues into the Consolidated Fund) for “during the present reign and a period of six months afterwards” substitute “ while section 1 of the Sovereign Grant Act 2011 is in force ”. (5) Sections 5 and 6 of the Civil List Act 1837 (honorific pensions) have permanent effect. (6) The sums required for the payment of pensions under section 5 of that Act (whether granted before or after the passing of this Act) are to be charged on and paid out of the Consolidated Fund.

One line that says what changes, such as "Halve the dog tax".
Who it helps, what it costs, what it fixes. It is what persuades people to support it.
A proposal here is not law. Support on Solon is evidence that people want the change; the official route says what it takes to make it law.

Ask what your change would do, who would gain and who would bear a cost, and where something like it is already law. The assistant reads your draft as it stands, cites the law and the studies it finds, and takes no side. What you file stays yours.
