Propose a change

Health and Social Care Act 2012

Write the words of this act the way you think they should read. Solon shows your change as a redline against the published text and pins it to that exact text, so it can never be applied to wording you did not see.

258 Information systems: supplementary

(1) Before establishing an information system pursuant to a direction under section 254 or a request under section 255 NHS England must consult— (a) the person who gave the direction or made the request, (b) representatives of other persons who NHS England considers are likely to use the information to which the direction or request relates, (c) representatives of persons from whom any information will be collected, and (d) such other persons as NHS England considers appropriate. (2) If NHS England reasonably believes that there is no longer a need to retain information which it has obtained by complying with a direction under section 254 or a request under section 255, NHS England may destroy the information.

One line that says what changes, such as "Halve the dog tax".

Who it helps, what it costs, what it fixes. It is what persuades people to support it.

A proposal here is not law. Support on Solon is evidence that people want the change; the official route says what it takes to make it law.

Ask what your change would do, who would gain and who would bear a cost, and where something like it is already law. The assistant reads your draft as it stands, cites the law and the studies it finds, and takes no side. What you file stays yours.
