Housing and Regeneration Act 2008

Write the words of this act the way you think they should read. Solon shows your change as a redline against the published text and pins it to that exact text, so it can never be applied to wording you did not see.

As published

126D Health and safety lead: general

(1) Nothing in sections 126A to 126C affects— (a) the responsibility of a registered provider for compliance with health and safety requirements, or (b) the liability of the registered provider or of any director, member or other officer or person for a failure to comply with health and safety requirements. (2) The health and safety lead is not, by virtue of those sections— (a) responsible for the registered provider’s compliance with health and safety requirements, or (b) liable for a failure by the registered provider to comply with health and safety requirements, (but this does not affect any responsibility or liability which the individual designated under section 126A has otherwise than as health and safety lead). (3) A registered provider may nominate an individual to carry out the functions of the health and safety lead if the health and safety lead is unable to act due to absence or illness.

One line that says what changes, such as "Halve the dog tax".

Who it helps, what it costs, what it fixes. It is what persuades people to support it.

A proposal here is not law. Support on Solon is evidence that people want the change; the official route says what it takes to make it law.

Ask what your change would do, who would gain and who would bear a cost, and where something like it is already law. The assistant reads your draft as it stands, cites the law and the studies it finds, and takes no side. What you file stays yours.
