Corporation Tax Act 2010

Write the words of this act the way you think they should read. Solon shows your change as a redline against the published text and pins it to that exact text, so it can never be applied to wording you did not see.

357NF Allowable deductions

(1) A deduction is allowed in calculating the profits attributable to the company's NIRE for any allowable expenses incurred for the purposes of the NIRE. (2) Expenses incurred for the purposes of the NIRE include executive and general administrative expenses so incurred, whether in Northern Ireland or elsewhere. (3) It does not matter whether the expenses are incurred by, or reimbursed by, the NIRE. (4) The amount of expenses to be taken into account under subsection (1) is the actual cost to the company. (5) “Allowable expenses”, means expenses of a kind in respect of which a deduction is allowed for corporation tax purposes or (in the case of a company that is not UK-resident) would be so allowed if incurred by a UK resident company.

One line that says what changes, such as "Halve the dog tax".

Who it helps, what it costs, what it fixes. It is what persuades people to support it.

A proposal here is not law. Support on Solon is evidence that people want the change; the official route says what it takes to make it law.

Ask what your change would do, who would gain and who would bear a cost, and where something like it is already law. The assistant reads your draft as it stands, cites the law and the studies it finds, and takes no side. What you file stays yours.
