Pension Schemes Act 2026

Write the words of this act the way you think they should read. Solon shows your change as a redline against the published text and pins it to that exact text, so it can never be applied to wording you did not see.

96 Power to extend superfunds legislation to similar structures

(1) The Secretary of State may by regulations— (a) apply any superfunds legislation, with or without modifications, to a similar structure; (b) make, in relation to a similar structure, provision that is similar to or that corresponds to any superfunds legislation. (2) “Superfunds legislation” means provision made by this Act (including provision amending other legislation) so far as it applies in relation to superfunds. (3) “Similar structure” means arrangements to which this Part does not (ignoring this section) apply but that involve a trust-based occupational pension scheme— (a) that has defined-benefit liabilities, and (b) that is not supported by a substantive employer covenant (whether or not the scheme receives, or is managed or administered with a view to its receiving, transfers of defined-benefit liabilities from other schemes). (4) The power under subsection (1) can be exercised so as to amend an Act. (5) Regulations under subsection (1) are subject to the affirmative procedure.

One line that says what changes, such as "Halve the dog tax".

Who it helps, what it costs, what it fixes. It is what persuades people to support it.

A proposal here is not law. Support on Solon is evidence that people want the change; the official route says what it takes to make it law.

Ask what your change would do, who would gain and who would bear a cost, and where something like it is already law. The assistant reads your draft as it stands, cites the law and the studies it finds, and takes no side. What you file stays yours.
