Guardianship (Missing Persons) Act 2017

Write the words of this act the way you think they should read. Solon shows your change as a redline against the published text and pins it to that exact text, so it can never be applied to wording you did not see.

8 Guardians and effect of guardianship order

(1) A guardian must act in what the guardian reasonably believes to be the missing person's best interests (see section 18). (2) A guardian is to be treated as the missing person's agent with the authority conferred by the guardianship order and this Act. (3) Before taking a decision in relation to which it would be reasonable to expect the missing person to consult a particular person, the guardian must consult that person unless it is not reasonably practicable to do so. (4) A guardianship order does not affect any rights, powers or other interests of third parties in relation to the missing person's property or financial affairs.

One line that says what changes, such as "Halve the dog tax".

Who it helps, what it costs, what it fixes. It is what persuades people to support it.

A proposal here is not law. Support on Solon is evidence that people want the change; the official route says what it takes to make it law.

Ask what your change would do, who would gain and who would bear a cost, and where something like it is already law. The assistant reads your draft as it stands, cites the law and the studies it finds, and takes no side. What you file stays yours.
