Public Authorities (Fraud, Error and Recovery) Act 2025

Write the words of this act the way you think they should read. Solon shows your change as a redline against the published text and pins it to that exact text, so it can never be applied to wording you did not see.

44 Suspension of deduction from earnings orders

(1) The Minister may suspend and re-start the requirement to make deductions and payments under a deduction from earnings order at any time by notifying the employer to which the order was given. (2) The Minister must notify the liable person if the requirement is suspended or re-started under this section. (3) Where the requirement is suspended for a continuous period of 2 years the deduction from earnings order in question is to be treated as having been revoked at the end of that period. (4) Where a deduction from earnings order is treated as having been revoked by virtue of subsection (3), the Minister must give notice to that effect to— (a) the liable person, and (b) the employer to which the order was given. (5) Subsection (3) does not prevent the Minister making a further deduction from earnings order in respect of the same liable person.

One line that says what changes, such as "Halve the dog tax".

Who it helps, what it costs, what it fixes. It is what persuades people to support it.

A proposal here is not law. Support on Solon is evidence that people want the change; the official route says what it takes to make it law.

Ask what your change would do, who would gain and who would bear a cost, and where something like it is already law. The assistant reads your draft as it stands, cites the law and the studies it finds, and takes no side. What you file stays yours.
