Title 15 Cities and Towns

Write the words of this act the way you think they should read. Solon shows your change as a redline against the published text and pins it to that exact text, so it can never be applied to wording you did not see.

Change 1

What to do with it
As published

15-1-419. Annexing contiguous cities or towns; effective dates; appeals.

(a) The annexation of any city or town is effective upon the publication date of the annexing city or town's annexation ordinance, unless a different date is specified in the ordinance. Thereafter the city or town to which the annexation is made shall pass ordinances, not inconsistent with law, as will carry into effect the terms and conditions of the annexation. For purposes of taxation, the annexation does not become effective until January 1 next following the effective date of the ordinance, unless an appeal is filed and perfected, in which case the effective date is January 1 next following the court's final decision. (b) Appeals to the district court and limitations thereon are governed by W.S. 15-1-409 except that any registered and qualified elector as of the date of adoption of the ordinance shall also be able to appeal to the district court.

One line that says what changes, such as "Halve the dog tax".

Who it helps, what it costs, what it fixes. It is what persuades people to support it.

A proposal here is not law. Support on Solon is evidence that people want the change; the official route says what it takes to make it law.
