Title 40 Trade and Commerce

Write the words of this act the way you think they should read. Solon shows your change as a redline against the published text and pins it to that exact text, so it can never be applied to wording you did not see.

(a) A creditor may not contract for or receive a separate charge for insurance in connection with a deferral (W.S. 40-14-215 or 40-14-313), a refinancing (W.S. 40-14-216 or 40-14-314), or a consolidation (W.S. 40-14-217 or 40-14-315), unless: (i) The debtor agrees at or before the time of the deferral, refinancing, or consolidation that the charge may be made; (ii) The debtor is or is to be provided with insurance for an amount or a term, or insurance of a kind, in addition to that to which he would have been entitled had there been no deferral, refinancing, or consolidation; (iii) The debtor receives a refund or credit on account of any unexpired term of existing insurance in the amount that would be required if the insurance were terminated (W.S. 40-14-408); and (iv) The charge does not exceed the amount permitted by this article (W.S. 40-14-407). (b) A creditor may not contract for or receive a separate charge for insurance which duplicates insurance with respect to which the creditor has previously contracted for or received a separate charge.

One line that says what changes, such as "Halve the dog tax".

Who it helps, what it costs, what it fixes. It is what persuades people to support it.

A proposal here is not law. Support on Solon is evidence that people want the change; the official route says what it takes to make it law.
