Employment Rights Act 2025

Write the words of this act the way you think they should read. Solon shows your change as a redline against the published text and pins it to that exact text, so it can never be applied to wording you did not see.

136 Disclosure of information: supplementary provision

(1) A disclosure of information which is authorised by section 135 does not breach— (a) an obligation of confidence owed by the person making the disclosure, or (b) any other restriction on the disclosure of information (however imposed). (2) But nothing in section 135 authorises either of the following— (a) the making of a disclosure which would contravene the data protection legislation (but in determining whether a disclosure would do so, the power conferred by that section is to be taken into account); (b) the making of a disclosure which is prohibited by any of Parts 1 to 7 or Chapter 1 of Part 9 of the Investigatory Powers Act 2016. (3) In subsection (2) “the data protection legislation” has the same meaning as in the Data Protection Act 2018 (see section 3 of that Act). (4) Section 135 does not limit the circumstances in which information may be disclosed apart from that section.

One line that says what changes, such as "Halve the dog tax".

Who it helps, what it costs, what it fixes. It is what persuades people to support it.

A proposal here is not law. Support on Solon is evidence that people want the change; the official route says what it takes to make it law.

Ask what your change would do, who would gain and who would bear a cost, and where something like it is already law. The assistant reads your draft as it stands, cites the law and the studies it finds, and takes no side. What you file stays yours.
