Write the words of this act the way you think they should read. Solon shows your change as a redline against the published text and pins it to that exact text, so it can never be applied to wording you did not see.

863 General client account deposits

(1) An investment is not a relevant investment if it is a general client account deposit. (2) An investment is a general client account deposit for the purposes of this section if— (a) it is a deposit held by a deposit-taker ... in a client account, and (b) provision made under any enactment requires the person whose account it is to make payments representing interest to some or all of the clients for whom, or on whose account, that person received the sums deposited in the account. (3) But an investment is not a general client account deposit if the account in which it is held is identified by the deposit-taker ... as one in which sums are held only for one or more particular clients of the person whose account it is.

One line that says what changes, such as "Halve the dog tax".

Who it helps, what it costs, what it fixes. It is what persuades people to support it.

A proposal here is not law. Support on Solon is evidence that people want the change; the official route says what it takes to make it law.

Ask what your change would do, who would gain and who would bear a cost, and where something like it is already law. The assistant reads your draft as it stands, cites the law and the studies it finds, and takes no side. What you file stays yours.
