Animal Welfare (Import of Dogs, Cats and Ferrets) Act 2025 2025 Chapter 30 An Act to make provision for and in connection with restricting the importation and non-commercial movement of dogs, cats and ferrets. [2nd December 2025] Be it enacted by the King’s most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
Propose a change(1) Sections 1 to 4 and this section extend to England and Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. (2) Sections 5 to 7 extend to England and Wales and Scotland. (3) Sections 1 to 7 come into force on such day as the Secretary of State may by regulations appoint. (4) This section comes into force on the day on which this Act is passed. (5) The Secretary of State may by regulations make transitional or saving provision in connection with the coming into force of any provision of this Act. (6) Regulations under this section may make different provision for different purposes. (7) Regulations under this section are to be made by statutory instrument. (8) This Act may be cited as the Animal Welfare (Import of Dogs, Cats and Ferrets) Act 2025.
