Title 22 Elections

Write the words of this act the way you think they should read. Solon shows your change as a redline against the published text and pins it to that exact text, so it can never be applied to wording you did not see.

Your change, as a redline

22-24-406. Grounds for denying certification of initiative or referendum application.

(a) The secretary of state shall deny certification of a referendum application if he determines that: (i) The committee of applicants failed to submit a sufficient number of qualified registered voters as sponsors; (ii) The application is not substantially in the required form; or (iii) More than ninety (90) days have expired since the adjournment of the legislative session at which the act being referred was passed.

One line that says what changes, such as "Halve the dog tax".

Who it helps, what it costs, what it fixes. It is what persuades people to support it.

A proposal here is not law. Support on Solon is evidence that people want the change; the official route says what it takes to make it law.
