Local Government and Public Involvement in Health Act 2007
Write the words of this act the way you think they should read. Solon shows your change as a redline against the published text and pins it to that exact text, so it can never be applied to wording you did not see.
Change 1
2A Proposals for merger of single tiers of local government
(1) The Secretary of State may invite or direct a relevant principal authority to make a proposal that there should be one or more single tiers of local government for an area which currently consists of— (a) the area of that authority, and (b) one or more other eligible areas. (2) A principal authority is a “relevant principal authority” for the purposes of subsection (1) if it is the district or county council for an area for which there is currently a single tier of local government. (3) An “eligible area” is an area for which there is a single tier of local government. (4) An invitation or direction may— (a) be such that the authority may choose which eligible areas (other than the area of that authority) should form the proposed area for the new single tier of local government; (b) specify which eligible areas (other than the area of that authority) should form the proposed area for the new single tier of local government.

One line that says what changes, such as "Halve the dog tax".
Who it helps, what it costs, what it fixes. It is what persuades people to support it.
A proposal here is not law. Support on Solon is evidence that people want the change; the official route says what it takes to make it law.

Ask what your change would do, who would gain and who would bear a cost, and where something like it is already law. The assistant reads your draft as it stands, cites the law and the studies it finds, and takes no side. What you file stays yours.
