Co-operative and Community Benefit Societies Act 2014
Write the words of this act the way you think they should read. Solon shows your change as a redline against the published text and pins it to that exact text, so it can never be applied to wording you did not see.
Change 1
50 Common seal
(1) Notwithstanding any enactment or rule of law, a registered society need not have a common seal. (2) A registered society which has a common seal must have its registered name engraved in legible characters on the seal. (3) A registered society which decides to have a common seal must not cause such a seal to be made unless its registered rules contain provision for the custody and use of that seal. (4) An officer of a registered society, or a person acting on behalf of a registered society, commits an offence if the officer or person uses or authorises the use of a seal purporting to be the society's common seal which does not have the society's registered name engraved in legible characters on it. (5) A person guilty of an offence under this section is liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding level 3 on the standard scale.

One line that says what changes, such as "Halve the dog tax".
Who it helps, what it costs, what it fixes. It is what persuades people to support it.
A proposal here is not law. Support on Solon is evidence that people want the change; the official route says what it takes to make it law.

Ask what your change would do, who would gain and who would bear a cost, and where something like it is already law. The assistant reads your draft as it stands, cites the law and the studies it finds, and takes no side. What you file stays yours.
