Lapsel terviseseisundist tingitud püsivat toevajadust põhjustavad seisundid on järgmised: 1) vaimne alaareng (RHK F71–F73); 2) mõlema silma pimedus (RHK H54.0); 3) harvikhaigus (RHK E72.0, E74.8); 4) vähidiagnoos (RHK C81–C96); 5) Retti sündroom (RHK F84.2); 6) Downi sündroom (RHK Q90).
